The City of Chico is excited to announce that the 2026 Road Rehabilitation – E. 20th Street Project is officially complete!

 

The project fully rehabilitated E. 20th Street between State Route 99 and Notre Dame Boulevard, improving roadway conditions, safety, accessibility, and mobility along the corridor.

 

Completed Improvements

The project included:

· Newly reconstructed and repaved roadway

· Upgraded storm drainage

· New ADA-compliant curb ramps

· New buffered bike lanes

· New pavement markings, roadway reflectors, and signage

 

These improvements will provide a safer, smoother, and more accessible roadway for drivers, bikers, and walkers along E. 20th Street.

 

The City of Chico sincerely thanks the community for its patience, flexibility, and support throughout construction. We especially appreciate the nearby businesses, organizations, residents, and community partners who worked with us through temporary traffic impacts, nighttime construction, and other disruptions.
